wine category disruption
wine category disruption

The wine category rewards heritage, restraint, and tradition. Big Fin ignored all three – and jumped off the shelf instead…

Big Fin have…

  • Secured a gigantic area of brand blocking with their label – rather than seeing brand blocking as a “let’s make the logo as big as we can” exercise…
  • Eschewed “category cues”, there’s no delicate whispers of luxury here, no fake script organic fonts looking like they were carved out of an old oak barrel, no tumbling vines…
  • There’s a real juxtaposition – wines, sharks…
  • But… a tangible and real story – this is Australian wine, I can confirm after a recent trip to Australia’s turquoise waters – sharks were very much at the forefront of my mind (as was a wine afterwards)…

If I was running through impulse and wanted to grab a bottle of wine with dinner – I know which I would choose, do you?
