Reformed Characters was born from a clear opportunity in the fast-growing Low & No category.
Too many alcohol-free drinks positioned themselves as substitutes, leaving consumers feeling like they were missing out.

The brief
The brand was looking for an alcohol free packaging agency to create a brand that felt bold, unapologetic, and ballsy – a cult brand which didn't shy away from the real reasons why so many people are deciding to take a break from booze.
We were tasked with creating a complete package for the brand including an ownable brand name, brand strategy, retail strategy, packaging design, e-commerce website and brand and retail launch support.
What did we do?
As an alcohol free packaging agency, we approached this as a full 360° brand build, working with Reformed Characters we supported across:
- Brand Naming – creating a unique and ownable brand name fit for future – securing trademarking across the UK & USA.
- Brand Strategy – we created a distinctive brand strategy crafting branding lines like “Unapologetically Alcohol Free” and “All Character, No Compromise” captured the rebellious, confident attitude our research revealed consumers craved.
- Packaging Design – we worked with product developers and manufacturers to craft a range of unique alcohol-free ‘characters’. We crafted a suite of bold, character-led cans, each with its own personality and flavour cues. The designs moved away from category conventions, signalling a premium yet playful positioning.
- Website, Content & Social – we built a full e-commerce website for Reformed Characters, along with a unique brand world and treasure trove of content, playing into consumers concerns around binge drinking and hangovers.
- Retail Strategy – following our brand design work we supported Reformed Characters with retail positioning and pitch decks – putting their best foot forwards and speaking the right language for engaging with major grocery retail.

Following our project Reformed Characters managed to gain meetings and pitches with key buyers including Selfridges, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Wholefood's, airlines, specialist retailers and more.
Beyond listings, the project demonstrated our ability as an alcohol free packaging agency to incubate and commercialise a challenger FMCG brand from scratch — from liquid to label to retail strategy.
