different ways to brand block in retail
different ways to brand block in retail

Retail brand blocking is truly an art – and can be achieved in a wide range of ways…

Above – Heinz is clearly the winner, but what actually caught my eye in this category was the messaging on packs from Branston.

While all brands focus on brand blocking via brand (aka: Make the logo bigger) – Branston have blocked via messaging.

“Not A Want But A Need” – on the Multi-Pack…
“What Your Toast Is Waiting For” – on the SRP…

This messaging helps Branston covet that valuable middle-ground – a trade down from Heinz, but offering, and most importantly promising – more than own label.
